How to Block Out the Noise

As Educational Leaders we are bombarded with "got a minute" and fires to put out all over the place. You MUST find time to block out the noise. šŸŽ§

Here is how you do it

1ļøāƒ£ Tell your assistant that you will be behind closed doors for the next 10 minutes and should not be disturbed unless of a TRUE emergency...think medical or fire emergencies only.

2ļøāƒ£ SHUT off your radio. YES, I did really say that. The school can function for 10 minutes without you having to hear about it.

3ļøāƒ£ Put your phone on silent. YES, I did really say that too!

4ļøāƒ£ Sit down with the bottom of both feet on the floor. Oooohhh, it feels good to be seated.

5ļøāƒ£ Close your eyes

6ļøāƒ£Take 5 deep breaths to reset your nervous system...breathe in for 4 and out for 4.

7ļøāƒ£Open your eyes, do you feel more focused? If yes take the remaining minutes to think of positive things in your life. If you are not then repeat the breathing technique while focusing on the breath and counting. Try it out and drop a comment below!
