Today was a full-circle moment for me.
I am who I am because I was raised by my mom who was an educator and by my dad who was a mechanic, who was deaf. These two amazing people raised me to be who I am today....without apologies. Ed Cozine Barbara Kozma Cozine As many of you know I retired from the school that I founded last year to have more time to devote to my family. That has morphed into helping educational leaders effectively lead their organization while still living the LIVES they DESERVE!
I am honored to do this work.
Today, I went to the New York State School for the Deaf in Rome, NY, a school I will be supporting next year. It was full circle for me because my dad attended a residential school for the deaf in high school. The high school he attended in Jersey City, NJ was unable to meet his needs so he had to attend the New Jersey School for the Deaf. Now, here I am helping a school enrich the lives of deaf children, children like my dad. (interesting fact when my dad attended the NJ School for the Deaf there were over 300 students, now there are about 60)
Another interesting twist is, that the school is a Total Communication School which is the same type of school my nephew was in for Pre-School. He attended pre-k with hearing peers although he is also deaf. It is my honor to support a school that will help kids like my nephew CRUSH every goal they set, just like he has!
God works in miraculous and mysterious ways and he has brought me to where I am today. He knows I have gifts to share with others who need me.
